TITLE: Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) /eAgent System Training

DESCRIPTION: A comprehensive 3-day training in the use of CJIS systems. This course will cover various aspects of the Criminal Justice Information System involving Federal, State and Bergen County law enforcement. This is a “hands-on” course that is geared towards supervisors, detectives, police officers and dispatchers that require a familiarity with the function of the Criminal Justice Information Systems. Training areas include National Crime Information Center, eAgent, NJ MVC (CJIS), Automated Traffic and Complaint Systems (ATS/ACS), NJ Criminal Case History (CCH), Interstate Identification Index (III), handling ALPR and MDT records, and ECDR / ETRO. A review of the basic applications of how and when to enter, modify, clear, cancel, and locate records applicable to each system as well as the laws and regulations for the use and dissemination of the information obtained. A test will be administered by the instructors for class practical only to review the key points of the training. This test will NOT be distributed to the agency and SHALL NOT count towards Re-Certification of personnel for your agency TAC training records.
REQUIREMENT: Each student MUST have completed the NJCJIS Terminal Operator Certification Course, working individual logins for all Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) and Administration of the Courts (AOC) systems listed above by their department TAC officer prior to attending the class. Logins cannot be assigned during class; it is the responsibility of each agency to verify student credentials are in working order 1 week prior to class.
NOTE: This class does not satisfy the TAC/Department requirement to recertify each law enforcement officer and / or dispatcher as required by the NJSP. This is not a recertification course, it is only a hands on refresher.
