The 5 day in-service Interview and Interrogation class is designed provide the students with an array of skills designed to help them obtain confessions from criminal suspects.  The course consists of not only class room instruction but will also feature actual interrogation videos from BCPO detectives.  On the final day there will be multiple “one on one” simulated interrogations between students and a “role player.”  The  interrogations will help to reinforce the skills taught during the week and provide live feedback and constructive instruction for all students.  There will be blocks of instruction covering verbal and non-verbal communication as well as ways to detect deception through verbal and non-verbal observations of others. Interview and interrogation theories will be presented along with various techniques of approaching different types of interview situations.  The course also covers administering Miranda warnings, interviews in the recorded environment, juvenile interrogation issues and techniques and preparation for court/Miranda hearings.
