TITLE: INTERVIEW AND INTERROGATION

This 5 day course, offered by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, is designed newly for assigned detectives, police officers or as a refresher course for the more experiences officer, who will be assigned to conduct interviews and interrogations.   The course will focus on various areas including some of the following: 

• The fundamentals of interview and interrogation in the electronically recorded environment and some of the challenges faced.
• How to prepare for the interview and/or interrogation and the methods that may be employed in each.
• Miranda and Juvenile Miranda Issues.
• Proper room setting and staging.
• The development and use of themes in order to elicit the truth from subjects.  
• Interpreting verbal and non-verbal behavioral.
• The use of Polygraph in an investigation.
