This course is designed for any Detectives who investigate crimes that involve digital evidence. The student will learn the basics of digital evidence collection, where to locate digital media, how to safeguard digital evidence, and how to prepare digital evidence to be examined by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. The students will also gain hands-on experience with reports generated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Digital Forensics Lab, for cellular phones, external media, and computer examinations. The students will gain an understanding through the hands-on portion of this class on how to find, understand and tag various files of evidentiary value within the generated reports. This course will be held in the computer lab of the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute.
